The climate of the Brussels Region
Belgium experiences a temperate oceanic climate (because of its latitude within the temperate zone and the proximity of the Atlantic Ocean). Overall, it is characterised by relatively cool, wet summers and rather mild, rainy winters.
The average annual temperature (calculated over a 30-year period between 1981 and 2010) is 10.5°C and the annual precipitation amounts to 852 mm.
